The focus of my painting is the natural world. My personal focus is that I paint what I see; what I observe first hand. I do not paint from a photograph of a place or a subject I have never seen or personally experienced. My goal is to convey a sense of place in my paintings. In addition to creating works in the studio, I often paint in Plein Air and use the pieces created in the field as reference for larger paintings. My grandfather was my earliest influence as he was a wildlife artist. More recently, I have been influenced by the work of Clyde Aspevig, Matt Smith, Carl Runguis and Dave Wade.
I have participated in the following shows:
- CM Russell Western Art Show - Ellensburg Western Art Show - Art Essentials - Spokane Western Art Show
