Stephen Lyman was one of the greatest wildlife and landscape artist's of our time. "On cold mountain evenings, a fire comforts like nothing else can. A simple but powerful creation which is available to everyone...the essence of wildness dances before our very eyes. When I am in the wilderness, an important evening ritual for me is to write in my journal. Recording the day, expressing thoughts, feelings, creativity, opinions, discoveries, revelations, observations, and descriptions of the day's beauty. My journal supports my visual interpretations of the wilderness, that is, my paintings, drawings, and photographs. I carry a lot of camera equipment with me, relishing in the art of photography as well as its usefulness since it reminds me of my inspiration to paint these experiences." - Stephen Lyman
